Municipal Revenues

About Municipal Revenues

One way to lower municipal taxes is to generate municipal revenues through projects that can supplement tax assessments. The projects help pay for city services so we don’t have to, or at least not pay as much. For example, municipalities that have Public Utility Commissions (PUC’s) are able to offer their residents competitive prices for utilities while still generating income for City funds. There are many other ways communities can generate income without directly competing with the private sector; the trick is to figure out our strengths as a city, and to build on them. The Branding project will help with this by identifying our community’s strengths and helping us focus in on what’s most important to residents.
