Chamber forming Buy Local Task Force

During the Timmins 2020 planning process, community members expressed a need for more awareness around the benefits of buying local. In response to this expressed need, a Buy Local Campaign was one of the 30 projects included in the plan.

Now, the Timmins Chamber of Commerce, who will be leading the Buy Local Campaign, is getting the project underway. They sent out an invitation in mid-January to recruit committee members for a new Buy Local Task Force, which will be responsible for coordinating the project. In response, more than a dozen local citizens expressed their interest. The group met for the first time on Friday, February 1 to discuss how to proceed with the project and define the roles and responsibilities of task force members.
