Christopher Yungblut compares Timmins to a bowl of yoghurt!

Christopher Yungblut wrote such a great overview of the culture in our community. This is perfect timing because we have the Culture, Recreation and Tourism Master Plan and Study coming out this spring!

Yungblut writes: “The real reason I’m writing this is to list as large a sample I can enumerate of the various forms of culture we have in Timmins – to make the point that, having not even been here for a full year, I can already confirm the abundance of culture in Timmins, and the lack of excuse anyone has to say that there is nothing cultural to do here, day or night. We have a performing arts culture (music, theatre, other), a literary culture, an artisans’ culture, several forms of spiritual culture, social culture, a multi-cultural culture, a community activism culture, a social/business entrepreneurship culture, a sports and recreation culture, a coffee shop culture, a children’s activities culture, a board games culture…please help by adding to this list. We have both traditionally designated ‘high- and low-brow’ forms of culture. There is indeed a form of culture for anyone in Timmins who wants to take part in it”.
