One of the recommendations in the Timmins 2020 Strategic Plan is to stimulate strategic community investment by creating a community foundation. Timmins is one of the only cities in Ontario that doesn’t have a community foundation. The foundation will provide a destination for donated funds to be given to local non-profits and it will complement the existing Timmins and District Hospital Foundation and the Northern College Foundation.
A group of volunteers is currently laying the ground work for the foundation. Once these steps are complete the group will move forward with the next phases of the project which include establishing an official foundation committee.
