Last week, a few key stakeholders participated in our first wave of consultations related to the Culture, Tourism and Recreation (CTR) Master Plan. These consultations were not open to the public. The consulting team the City has hired to develop the CTR Master Plan met with members of the culture, tourism and recreation committees for an orientation. They discussed plans for public consultations in the fall, and also toured local facilities. The consultants then met with key stakeholders to collect initial input into the CTR Master Plan’s development. Le Centre culturel La Ronde kindly provided the facilities for these meetings.
This summer, the consulting team will review documentation related to the culture, tourism and recreation sectors in Timmins to gather background information. They will also prepare for additional meetings with stakeholders and the public consultations set to take place in Fall 2013.
