While summer is in full-swing, Timmins 2020 is not on vacation. The Housing Committee met on July 4 to discuss which elements on the housing continuum should be included in the project’s scope. They ultimately decided to include the entire spectrum, which encompasses homelessness, shelters, social housing, rentals and owned homes.
For the Housing Strategy to be successful, a housing inventory must be completed. Demographic population groups will also have to be considered, looking at their housing needs over the next 10 to 20 years. This housing project is extensive, and will require the assistance of an outside consultant to work with the Housing Committee.
In the meantime, the Housing Committee is continuing to gather documents and organize ideas to keep-up the great Timmins 2020 momentum.
