Submission deadline of RFP extended

In late November 2012, the City of Timmins released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to hire a consulting firm to develop the Culture, Tourism and Recreation Master Plan. The Master Plan is an unprecedented project that will combine a Municipal Cultural Plan, Tourism Strategy and Recreation Master Plan into one report. The consultants will be expected to provide recommendations on how each sector can move forward individually, while also coordinating with one another.

Consulting firms with relevant expertise have all been welcome to submit proposals to work on this enormous project. Due to the holidays and the unique nature of the project, however, the due date for submissions has been extended. Consultants now have an additional week to polish their submissions. The new deadline for submissions is January 23, 2013 at 2:00pm. The RFP is available for download on the City website. Please see the RFP for further submission details.

The Culture, Tourism and Recreation committees will each review the submissions and make their recommendations regarding which consulting firm is the best fit for the project. City Council is expected to make a final approval in February 2013.
