Timmins is in for a Laugh Fest

The Timmins Comedy Festival  will be kicking off this Thursday and will run from March 26-28th. The event will feature a range of shows from family friendly comedy and motivational act Retro Bill to raunchy Inappropriate Thursday hosted by Rick Lemieux. Established and award winning comedians from Canada and the US will be featured in this not to miss lineup.

The festival, which donates proceeds to local not for profits, is in its second year. Last year over $20,000 in funds was raised.

This year the profits will be donated to Wheels for Hope for the Canadian Cancer Society. The aim of this program is to pair volunteer drivers with Cancer patients that require transportation to and from appointments.  In 2014, 113 patients were driven to 515 appointments by 20 volunteers who drove 290,238kms. Patients typically ride with the service between 10-17 times.

Events like this are great for tourism in Timmins and show that Timmins has much to offer in terms of entertainment. Are you IN?
