Upcoming event to launch Centre of Excellence for Timmins

During the Timmins 2020 consultation process, participants were asked to suggest business development ideas that would improve quality of life and economic development in Timmins. One of the Top 10 suggested was a Centre of Excellence. Recently, the Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) announced plans to launch a productivity and innovation centre, which would serve as a Centre of Excellence for Timmins. Ross MacDonald, Business Development Specialist at the TEDC, explains in our Local Confidence interview why productivity was chosen as Timmins’ area of specialty, as well as what residents can expect from the centre.

Now, the TEDC is hosting an event to launch the productivity and innovation concept. The Innovation Keynote Address is set to take place on November 8 starting at 5 pm at the Dante Club. The night will include dinner, networking and a keynote speaker presentation. The featured speaker is David Chalk, a pioneer in the technology industry with extensive experience using innovative technologies to increase productivity.
