On Thursday, May 1, Mayor Tom Laughren thanked more than 30 organizations and businesses in Timmins who have contributed to making the Timmins 2020 Strategic Plan a reality. We are now into Year 3 of the Ten-year plan, and have completed 9 projects. Five more are ongoing, and we’re starting four new ones this year. All of these projects are making Timmins a more economically sound and appealing place to live, learn and play.
It’s important to remember that while economic development is a major priority, there are other things we need to do too- we need to make sure our community is attractive, and has amenities for all groups, including seniors, youth, members of different cultural groups, sporting enthusiasts, and the creative sector. A strategic plan coordinates several projects that make our community stronger and more competitive.
