The four committees overseeing the development of plans for Culture, Tourism and Recreation in Timmins are meeting in early April to finalize the draft plans. The consulting team, which includes PFK and Sierra Management, have produced a plan to promote and develop Culture, another plan focusing on strategic Tourism development, and a third plan for Recreation in Timmins. Since many of the activities under these three areas use the same facilities and resources, there is also a “Master Plan” that integrates the three strategies. This will help Timmins spend its dollars as effectively and efficiently as possible. The final reports will be posted to the Timmins 2020 website shortly after they have been accepted by Council. Council will be hearing from the consultants on May 12, 2014.
