When it comes to entrepreneurship, Timmins ranks #12 out of 107 Canadian cities studied by the Canadian Federation of Independednt Business. Among Northern Ontario’s five largest communities:

The CFIB used 14 indicators to arrive at the rankings, including things like commercial tax rates, ease of getting permits and approvals, and how many support services the city offers its businesses. The number one city in Canada in entrepreneurship is Calgary. Toronto is number 7 on the list.
