Umbrella Committee to review RFP’s

The Recreation, Culture and Tourism Master Plan (RCTMP) project has been making significant headway towards hiring consultants to develop the Master Plan. Now that the Recreation, Culture and Tourism committees have all completed their RFP’s, it’s up to the RCTMP Umbrella Committee to combine them into one.  This meeting is being arranged and should take place by mid-November. At that time, the Umbrella Committee will combine the three RFP’s into one that allows for equal consideration and inclusion of all three sectors.

Once reviewed and approved, the RFP will be released so that consultants can be hired to facilitate public input, compile data and design strategies. These will in turn help Timmins improve its recreational, cultural and tourism facilities and programs. This process will help community groups understand the steps they must take to ensure the recreation, culture and tourism sectors in Timmins continue to grow and thrive long into the future. It will provide a consistent source of information and direction for all organizations to move forward in a coordinated effort that focuses on satisfying local needs without wasted time, energy or money.
