The Election Results are IN!

Timmins has spoken and the election results are IN!  This year was the first year that residents were able to vote online and the turn out has exceeded expectations.  47% of eligible voters headed to the polls which is up from previous elections.

An informal poll identified taxes and fiscal accountability as big issues for voters this election. Roads, policing costs, water rates and city services, followed these as key issues for voters.

This year we see some new faces as well as welcome back some long time council members.  We are optimistic about the future and welcome our new Mayor and council.

The results are:

  • Mayor- Steve Black 64.58% of the vote.
  • Ward 1 (Mountjoy) – André Grzela 38.86% of the vote.
