Buy Local Campaign prompts Facebook discussion

As part of Timmins 2020’s efforts to engage local residents in the plan, the Timmins 2020 Facebook page is updated frequently with news, resources, and ¬†thought-provoking questions. This week, the focus was on the Timmins Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Buy Local Campaign. Questions such as, “Do you think your community pride affects your decision to buy local?” and “Do you think residents of Timmins have a responsibility to buy local?” received a variety of thoughtful responses.

Residents that have a Facebook profile or Twitter account are encouraged to share their thoughts on the Buy Local Campaign or any other Timmins 2020 project. Those who do not use social media are welcome to contact us with his or her ideas.

The Buy Local Task Force will be meeting on April 5, 2013 to continue their discussion of the Buy Local Campaign.
